The URBANIST Guide aims to produce the best printed city guides in the nation, making it easy for both tourists and locals to pinpoint the outstanding local businesses. As a way to celebrate the vendors featured in the colorful Pittsburgh edition, the URBANIST threw a holiday market much like the type of holiday affair you would have attended in elementary school.
Thommy Conroy and I were invited to participate as part of our Harvest & Gather collaboration. The concept for our booth was a Christmas Tree market, which inspired our handmade collection of wreaths, trees, ornaments, cookies… all the holiday essentials!
We sold two varieties of wintry cards- one for Christmas/holiday and one to wish Happy New Year. Both cards began with my custom illustrations and Thommy’s calligraphy. We silkscreened them onto thick card stock and sold them in packs with gel pens to make holiday correspondence that much easier.
We crafted the tree-topped mason jars and filled them with homemade cookies like these Chocolate Gingerbread Twigs. You can find the recipe here on my food blog, With The Grains.

The green holiday tins contained Double Chocolate, Orange, Cranberry & Hazelnut Cookies. The recipe is here.
