“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”
Perhaps because I was a late-life child, listening to my siblings relish in stories that existed in a lifetime before mine, I developed a fascination with memory, nostalgia and preservation. Growing up as the only child in a big family of adult siblings, I spent a lot of time alone, wildly crafting narratives in illustrations, plays, books and general musings. My fixation on narratives and my quest to preserve these memories found their home in photography.
Professionally, I use the camera to shoot people, food, drinks, products, interiors and events. If you have a photo project in mind, contact me, and we’ll decide if we’re a match. If the photography assignment requires more extensive equipment and lighting, I am happy to recommend the appropriate studio photographer and discuss styling services as an option.
Personally, I use the camera as an observation tool, whether traveling abroad or just attempting to see my neighborhood anew. I use the camera to document recipes, gatherings and the details that inspire me, most of which I share on my food lifestyle blog, With The Grains.
